Have a hen that's on the sluggish side. Her neck and head feathers are a grayish color although normally red (she's a NH hen). Her legs are on the weak, wobbly side and her energy has dropped farther since the beginning of her quietness (less than a week ago).

I am trying the best I can to come up with natural remedies... I know ACV is a natural electrolyte for poultry and helps the immune system build up stronger. I've used it in the past and think is works but was wondering- does white vinegar have the same, or, a weaker affect?

Then hen hatched from an egg we purchased from Myers Hatchery a good 3 years ago along with 17 other eggs- placed beneath a few different brooding hens. She was the only successful hatch from the purchase and she's a very special hen. The other eggs died off in what was assumed to be a sickness of sorts.

I cannot remember the name of the avian disease so please forgive me, but my Father mentioned one with the same signs that the hen has. It's said to be a disease often formed from the fertility of a pullet's egg in a factory, or so. The offspring may develop the symptoms of it...
it that makes any sense.

Thanks in advance. My apologies for being confusing. I'd just like to know what's best for her in the most natural way possible. Feel free to ask questions to narrow down her symptoms. I'll try my best of accuracy.

How often is she laying? Is she eating, drinking any? She may need vitamins.

Sadly, a year ago, she had what I believe was either an ovary blockage or something else causing her to stop laying eggs. It was too rough on her, so she stopped trying to lay altogether. Furthermore, she's done alright since then...which is surprising but fortunate.

*Edit
Pardon me- I didn't see the rest of your question.
She's drinking water in moderation, she's drinking a light mixture of cranberry juice and vitamin C powder also. I gave her a little bit of milk which normally excites her and though it did- not as much as normal. Should I try any calcium/magnesium vitamins?
Lastly- she's eating lightly but not what I think is enough.

It could be a reproductive problem. Chickens can start declining after their egg laying years are over which I'm guessing to be about three or maybe more or less years.

That very well may be a consideration. I will keep it in mind and look into it more. Thank you for your input.
It's funny, a few years ago I had a 9 year old hen lay an egg- although I assume it was simply an inedible rarity.
I think 4-6 years would be when they reach their end of egg laying. I have to see what age, to be exact, the hen I've been speaking of is. I've lost track of time.
