Well done.Pullet = immature female chicken
Hen = mature female chicken
Cockerel = immature male chicken
Rooster = mature male chicken
Thanks Mary!! I appreciate your suggestions!!!Adding one cockerel or rooster to a group of pullets is the easiest 'flock addition' there is. he will work his way into the group and be VERY happy!
Feeding everyone a 20% all flock feed is way better than that (16%?) layer feed, with oyster shell in a separate container for the actively laying birds.
He's really cute! Cochin bantams are such nice birds, love them!
Introducing another cockerel or rooster later will be hard! Better to consider raising some chicks in soring, and maybe keeping one of the cockerels as backup then.
