Adding a young cockerel to already laying pullets

Here's Johnny and our current day time set up. I have a small crate for sleeping in the coop also. The girls are definitely curious and NOISY!!!

At 16wks. Should I expect him to get any bigger being an bantam??

What a handsome little fellow!

At that age my large-fowl boys are just about the size of a same breed hen and end up about half-again larger.

Johnny is adorable 😍
Thank you!

Thank you! And thanks so much for the info...I appreciate it!!

I keep yall posted on the integration and probably continue to ask some questions lol

Starting with, i have a bag of layer feed. Its open the girls are eating on it (i swap between layer and all flock) so next up is all flock, can Johnny eat a bit of the layer feed?? Like its not gonna be so much its gonna hurt him right?? I have all flock in with him now but just in case that's gone before I get back to the feed store all I'll have is pig feed and layer feed...so just wanted to ask

I am planning on adding a Bantam cochin (gosh I think that's how you spell it) cockerel to my 5m old pullets (a few of them bantam). All but 2 are laying. (19 girls)

What can I expect as far as dynamic changing. I think it'll be great for the ladies. Is one enough for 19 girls? I really would like to avoid 2 as hubby just came around to 1 lol. But if I need to add 2 I would like to do it at the same time.

Tips on intergrating?
I have a way for them to do the see don't touch method for a little while, and I plan on adding him to the flock when I have my 3 consecutive days off work so I can watch them all.

Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks!!
I always thought only hens layed eggs!

A little bit won't hurt him. It's long-term that the excess calcium would be a problem.
