Adding new drake to the flock while duck is broody

Right so I have a weird question here for yous
My old drake got killed by a fox and now I’m left with my two ducks, one of them is broody and the other one is out all alone, poor thing
So I was wandering if I could add a new drake to the flock too keep the other one from getting depressed, she’s been sitting down by her bath tub watching the chickens all week, my question is would adding a new drake/duck interfere with my broody duck ? Should I wait till she hatches her eggs ? (Three weeks left)

A new drake added at this point might try to breed the broody duck while on the nest and disrupt the whole broody process. I would wait until after the ducklings have hatched.

It’s a pitty that the drake got killed, he was sitting at the door of the brooder protecting her from any crossing chicken. She seems so confused without him. And the other duck is still out calling for him. 3 weeks left till hatch day so I’ll think about getting a new drake after that

Not as a replacement but for the ducks safety
They seem so much calmer with a drake around.

Probably wait until the ducklings hatch and get full size. It may sound a while but if you get a drake while you have ducklings then the drake may try to harm the ducklings
