Adopting this roo! But who are you?

Hi BYC friends! We are adopting this pair from a local family who got a run of chicks that hatched on May 8th and the roo has found his voice. They live within city limits and cannot keep roosters. The hen is coming along with as they seem to be bonded. They are half siblings and we know that the daddy was a barred rock which is evident in the hen. I see a bit of barring in the roo but wondering what other breed he could be. Thanks in advanced for the input! He will be with our small flock of sapphire gems, golden comets and amber link hens.

Their mother could have been a Legbar. Yellow legs, white earlobe, large comb, slight crest "especially the female".
