Our rooster started limping at the end of last week. I noticed his entire foot was swollen and his toes were darkening. I started him on cephalexin and saw some improvement. However, he is still limping and has not made any further improvement. I started to wonder if it was bumble foot. It certainly appears to be, although there isn't a scab I can remove after the epsom salt soak I did for his foot. What do I do next?

Per the Bumblefoot surgery instructions, I cut into his foot to pull out the infection. I don't know if I didn't go deep enough, but I didn't see anything that looked like an infection, even though the pad of the foot is very swollen and warm. Patched him up. What do I do now? I feel so bad :(

He was "quarantining" with two drakes for about a week in the bottom part of our coop. Nothing under there that would do it. It was after his time under there that I noticed his foot. We had him under there to keep him from attacking our children. The only thing I can think of is we trimmed his spurs a bit and one bled a few drops of blood at the end. The top of his foot between his toes has yellow puss and peeling skin.

I'm not sure how he would have gotten so bruised. It almost seems like his toes are dying or something. Before I started him on cephalexin, his foot was blown right up.
