A person wanted suggestions on why her chicken was lame for 10 days. I gave her some suggestions. 3 days later I post that I give mine cake or French toast (comfort food) when they are (healing).

She tells me that she only wanted valuable advice, not childish blather, and asked me if I was insane. So, I deleted my (helpful) post and she gave it an ovation (for deleting it).

There are hardly, if any times where members have been rude to me or I to them. I've been a member here for 6 1/2 years, and have been proud of that, and helping anyone I can. Sorry about the rant, but sometimes people are not very nice and I've really never come across any one before get told that their advice was childish blather from a possibly insane person.

That is pretty rude. There's another person on here who I have seen just be super rude to people and this week I had a run I. With him. He just goes off on conversations he's not a part of, insults others and thinks he's the only one who can be right, even when he's not (mostly he's not!). I even got a PM pretty much saying the guy is crazy and just likes being mean to others and not to engage with him because he just does this. This is the only mean person I've come across and because I have seen him do it to others I knew what I was in for.

Wow, Alice. You just joined this year and I can't stand it when new people are picked on or someone is rude to them. People like that ruin my day. I hope the nice people you meet make up for 1 awful person

In my five years here, there are only two people that I have had to 'block'. Sometimes I tend to be somewhat succinct (my wife says that I am blunt) in my advice, and upon occasion folks have misinterpreted my intent. I have received a few 'hate' PM's. Some I have resolved, others I have just let slide. Some of our younger members upon occasion tend to over react. I have read many of your posts, and regard you as a class act. Just block this person and have no further interaction with them.

We joined close to the same time! I do way more reading here than posting. I have noticed a few rude posts here and there, but what she said to you was uncalled for and CHILDISH!

LOL, Sourland, you certainly have a lot of posts!!!
I would forward any hate pm's to the mods. That's a bit too far.
Block button is good.
I do try to be less blunt with young people . Sometimes it takes a while to figure out how old someone is and makes a big different on what they are writing.

Thankyou for the compliment!

kbarrett, yes, very rude! And to think I replied to a post of someone looking for help!

I don't mind blunt, I'm very blunt and straight forward, I'm fine with that because I like straight forward answers. But when someone goes out of there way to be rude that's just uncalled for. Especially when these are are people online that we don't know them or anything about there life. Like I said, I've only encountered one rude person. Everyone else is great and I really like it! So much info!

Hmmm... I've read a lot of your posts, and I'm pretty sure you're not insane. ;) I wish you hadn't deleted your post.

FWIW, I've seen a few posts that did strike me as childish blather from a possibly insane person, but it seemed better to let it go that make a rude comment.

As far as comfort food for sick chickens: I think the real "comfort" there is for the owner -- which isn't a bad thing.

I think the comfort food is completely normal, what chicken owner doesn't like giving their chickens treats?
