Hi guys! Okay I just had a gentleman call me and I wants to buy one Ameraucana pullet, for his wife. I have some that are 11 weeks old, wasn't really wanting to sell them, but we always need the money. These are Ameraucanas that I hatched out from a great breeder here on BYC and they are from show stock. He asked me how much I would charge and I told him I wasn't sure, would have to get back with him. He told me he'd pay a fair price. He also wants one of my 15 week old RIR pullets, not sure how much to charge for her either.
Let me know what you guys think... thanks!

I live in a city and our prices are higher because their aren't many breeders nearby (supply and demand.) Close by, the point of lay pullets go for $15- $30, depending on the breed. If you are willing to drive an hour or more, pullets and hens go for $10 to $20, more or less. The chicks that are 8 weeks to 12 weeks are usually $6 to $10.

The only local Ameraucanas I have seen listed around here was $40 for a rooster and a hen pair.

I would think if they are from a good breeder of show quality, but not full grown, I would be willing to pay $10 to $20.

I would say $25 & $15 for the RIR. Eather he will buy it or refuse to. If he refuses to ask him what he thinks is far. Then you can eather take his offer or refuse it.

Thanks for the help. Well, I went out there last night to check to make sure I did indeed have 5 females/2 males, and pick out a pullet for him. I noticed that there were only 4 to come and greet me, which was not normal. So, I went around to open the coop, but the latch was already undone, which was strange. I opened it and to my horror, three of them were just lying there, dead. A couple had all the feathers and some skin torn off of them. I am just DEVESTATED!

Try putting springs on the hinges to keep the door closed. Unless you found feathers and/or blood on your poodle, expect that it could have been a different predator.

Oh no! I'm sorry!

I had a man cleaning up my neighbors yard asking about my hens. I told him I didn't want to get rid of them, but knew someone who was selling red sex-links that were laying for $10 each... and he laughed like that was way too much
