African Grey in NJ needs forever home!

A friend of mine on fb asked that I please post this as many places as I can, this poor, previously neglected bird needs a home to be cherished in.

Grey Parrot who was taken
from her third neglectful
home. Lucy has flourished so
much with her wonderful
foster Kim who is extremely Parrot savvy and has taken
Lucy to the best Avian Vet in
NJ. Lucy has a clean bill of
health and is ready for her
new home; she is a sweet
girl and has a large vocabulary of words and
sounds. She really loves
human attention and
affection. Lucy has plucked
her neck and chest feathers
out due to depression, sadness and neglect from
being left alone for over a
year and a half in a vacant
home. her family moved N
did'nt her along. Lucy was
left at the family's old house, which has not sold as of yet,
only to be visited once a
week by a family member
who brought food and
water. Do you have room in
your heart for this WONDERFUL girl?

oooh Poor girl!!!! If I had the space I would take her in a heartbeat. We had a yellow naped amazon for 15 years-was my MIL's and the fun we had with her-priceless!!!

I live in NJ and there's an older retired couple that my boyfriend and myself are friends with. They probably have 6 parrots at this point and never had children, so they treat the parrots like kids. I can ask them if they are interested - although the Grey would certainly outlive most.

Do we know if the parrot has any male/female preferences? It likely has biting issues?

They have a very large cockatoo with a pink head that almost took my finger off, but he gives them kisses!

Actually, I can think of another older gentleman who already has an african grey who may also be interested. I'll make some calls tomorrow.

My friend used to have an African Grey who would do flips off her roost when she was playing. One day she fell and hit her head, and died. My friend was devastated.... I'll see if maybe she'll adopt this one.
