Ah the country life.......... (AKA-- The country thread!!!!)

It was quite funny to me at least, I looked out my back door and saw a coyote about 5 feet from my back deck, creeping up to get another chicken dinner. I threw open the back door and stomped my feet and yelled at him, running at him. I scared him so bad, he must still be running(not really, he will be back). That is country living, doing something before you have time to think about, just have to do what needs to be done.

Just seen a few men with 2 1940s tractors turning the hay with pitchforks. They stopped to wave. Also, have seen an old fashioned haystack, built up like a small bungalow. Aaaah the romance of it!

The bad.. last night got a copperhead.. eeek!!! The good... watched the boys today in the tree swing in their underwear! hahaa.. gotta survive this Texas heat somehow, right!?!

I am a big city kid who grew up and moved to the country. My 2 favorite moments that come to my head are my wife coming home from the little antique shop where picks up some hours and says, " all the Milwaukee tourists talk to me like I'm a local townie girl" ( she grew up in the BIG city and thinks its funny and cute). & This winter, I stopped to talk to a local guy who was plowing his driveway with an FARMALL tractor. I stopped on the side of a snowed over country road, in the middle of a 14 inch blizzard, to admire the tractor and introduce myself.

Rabies alert signs, beautiful sunsets and stars, and sweat dripping off noses after shoveling out roots here. Been waiting for years and years to have a slice of the country life, and am enjoying it immensely. :)
