YAYYYYYY!!!! I KNEW IT!! I was SHOCKED when I thought she hadn't had it this morning!!

That is a mare for you. I have slept for months outside with mine and the minute I went in to get a drink or potty break, they would foal! They know when someone is keeping an eye on them. LOL

I am SO excited...like it is my horse being born or something! haha

YAYYAY

YAY MEEEEEE!! Today is my day. That little girl who cried every time someone else was with their horse finally got hers!

YAY!

I am not a mare fan, but I think its just because it was never MY mare. But I really prefer a filly this time around since I am gathering breeding stock.

ohhhh I just cant wait. We will be best of friends. I dont have pictures yet, but she's called three times to tell me again and again that this is literally the friendliest foal she's EVER had, and the BEST looking newborn. She's literally amazed by it.

yeah, thats my baby! 26 years in the making you better believe its the best.

You watch, it'll make reserve 1st premie at the keuring this fall. It will it will.

First of all so happy for you whatever you have. I had my first 2 this year and we are having so much fun with them.
second on a more serious note, did you find the placenta? If it is missing or a piece is missing you need to call the vet asap. She can get a deadly infection in a matter of hours, it may need to be lavaged and removed by the vet. I hope it was just delayed in expelling keep us updated.

LeaAnne called to say that the filly is so smart. She had been out there kicking around looking for the stupid placenta for over an hour (she births in paddocks, not stalls) and the baby watched and followed, watched and followed, and finally wondered off and laid down.

On the placenta.

hehe!
