Do you have any other hens other than the barred rock? She has red ear lobes and that is usually a dead ringer for brown eggs..... She looks like a BSL to me

I think that even if she does lay white eggs, that would not rule out BSL. For example: crossing a Buff Catalana with a Barred Holland hen should produce a sex link. Both are supposed to lay white eggs, so the female offspring should lay white eggs.
I think possible BSL.

she's in with the BR, a banty X who lays light brown eggs and is in a molt anyway and some 3 mo. silkie pullets and a broody cornish X who lays light brown eggs and has chicks at the moment. it could not possibly be anyone from the other coop because they are all banties. i was positive she was a BSL until i found the white egg

i wouold have said pullet to begain with...hmmm she doesnt look like a pure breed so some kind of mix...i'm guessing something that has lacing a straight comb and lays white eggs hmmm and nothing comes to mind here

dark brown leghorn X ummmm campine? couldn't be a brown egg layer or her eggs would be darker. her colorings very similar to a dark brown leghorn, tho a very poor quality one and the other half of the X would have a heavier build than a leghorn and a smaller tail and darker shanks.

My guess is a dark leghorn mix or cross of some sort. If I were you, I would simly say "dark leghorn" and be done with it.
