ALABAMA!!

Help a newbie out.
Got 6 day old chicks on Monday. All has been fine up to now. This morning I go check and one of the babies is listless. Other kids running around like crazy, ecstatic over scrambled eggs. She's just barely standing
I've removed her, given her water and some feed. Anything else I should do?

One of my cochin bantam I got on Thur still doesn't look too good. I thought it look a little bit better yesterday but today it's back to what it look like Thursday. :( It is not eating or drinking a lot and it spends more of the time sleeping. The Mille Fleur cochin I got the same time was the same size as the other but now it's now noticeably bigger and a lot more active.

I've been leaving it alone but I'm afraid it failing to thrive. Is there anything I can do about it?

One of my OEGB is a boy and he is rambunctious as well. I think it's hilarious because he thinks he is 10ft tall but in reality he about 3" tall to his back and probably weigh less than a quarter pound.

When he is big enough I will have to find a home for him where he can strut his stuff.

It's dangerous feeding these guys! Stick my hand in their area to grab their bowl and they try to eat my fingers whole.. my ring is even more interesting, they attack that thing on sight.

So far they've been good to the new kids. A little jumping, bumping and pecking (single peck on the head, I don't tolorate bullying, but the single peck is a "Just so you know, I'm the boss".. my hens do it to newbies too). The heat plate thing has got them a little confused and they're still a bit scared to get under it, since the bigger kids are all over it. But I can tell they're more comfy today.. running with the chick flock for food, trying to follow the big kids around.

The little boy is a bit braver than the two girls... they're a little hesitant around all these rambunctious boys.

In a few days they should be totally part of the flock.

Check for crusty butts and their crops (too full? Not full at all?). Straight beak? Cross beak can be a real problem. Keep an eye out for cocci.... Sometimes you do lose one. We have to remember what they go through to even get to the store. Can try a bit of yogurt or probiotic if you have it.... electolytes... warmt and dark.

Orps that's how my baby is acting too. She'll drink a little water but no food...
Very lethargic. I don't see her forge for food like the other chicks. She also stumbles a lot when she walks. I think she is better but then again, she doesn't walk a lot anymore.

No crusty, nothing in crop, beak straight. Think she can do with some electrolytes. Can I give chicks Gatorade?
