Hi! I'm new to the site! I live in Argo, Al. I started with 5 chicks one died and I'm down to 4. They are 3 weeks old today. They are so much fun! I have a coop outside but right now the chicks are in a brooder we made from a horse trough and in my house. I'm new to all things chicken. But look forward to learning from all of you.
Welcome, sh0ptildr, to BYC and the Alabama!! thread!! I've had my chickens for one year now. I just added 12 chicks (13, but lost one) a couple of weeks ago. This site helped me so much the first year! It's been wonderful to glean from the experts! :) I've also made some wonderful connections in my area of southeast AL. You will absolutely fall in love with raising chickens!

Blessings!

Interesting! Home brewing seems like fun

I got some fantastic barley on Ebay (to sprout for the chicks), and saw all the homebrewing stuff advertised with it. Home made beer and wine would totally be my thing. Yum.

if you can boil water, you can make beer. if you can cook, you can make good beer. it's actually VERY easy to make good beer. and the good news is... it's NOT a felony anymore in alabama! (my homebrew club wrote the legislation that got passed last year)
