I was at my neighbors house yesterday and he has chickens also, he has styrofoam balls like the kind you would use for decoration hanging on strings around his coop. I asked him what they were for and he said the chickens peck at them an he uses them to keep them from getting bored and pecking each other. He said it doesn't hurt them and has been using it for years, just baffled me it can't be good for them. What do y'all think have any of you used it?

I give mine a cabbage ball! They LOVE it!

My birds have eaten styrofoam with no ill effect... Not sure I would feed it on purpose I could see hanging an old bun/dinner roll like that. They would like that. Mine don't "do" cabbage.

I put the compost pile in the run with mine so far that keeps them busy can't see feeding styrofoam to them

Another update on what's going on. We may just be helping my MIL and BIL move to a house this week and then going home ourselves. I'm really, really hoping this works out. I'm ready to see my family again and all my pets. I was almost jumping for joy when my MIL said that we might be going home in a few days. After that (meaning if we go home this week) we'll just be waiting for MIL to get her SSI so she can move back up Bama and be close to us. I am so ready for everything to get started the way I hope it will.

In other news, when I talked to my mom she said that my dad was ready for me to get back and take the eggs away from Ducky Girl. It isn't even time for them to hatch yet!

He's worst than me sometimes.

I'm not sure if I posted about this before, but way before I left someone rented out the house and lot next to my parents' house. After I left they put 2 horses out there and we kept the gate between the yards open (Star was happy about that) and now there is a 3rd horse out with them. The mare was sent off about a month ago to be bred and now I'll get to see a foal born.

That's not something I've ever seen in person and I'm excited about it. I'll also get the chance to work with the two skittish geldings pastured with her. StarBuck will not be happy about that!

I'm going home this week!!!!!!

I was not expecting this at all! I am literally crying right now. We're renting a car for this weekend and I am going home! I was so nervous and about 10 mins ago Blu's grandmother called and said that she was sending us home. I have no idea how and I won't ask either. I'm so excited to get back to doing what I love.

I feel like I'm going to faint.
