Question? I have two bunches of hens one 4 weeks older than the others. When the first bunch start laying will it hurt the younger ones to eat the layer feed?

At a 4 week difference, maybe. I would keep the younger ones on grower for a little while longer. I know you don't want to have to buy two bags of different food.

If I was in that position, I would mix the layer with the starter and provide crushed oyster shell to them free choice. Just a thought...............

I am trading half a wild pig for two Sussex hens. Is that a good trade? I've never had Sussex before.

Never had wild hog. Is the meat like pork or is it different?

Score one for me. Since I moved my hens back into the other coop they seem to be laying better. No more stress from my drake ripping feathers out. I also moved some of my old nest boxes over and raised them up off the ground, best decision ever! I had 3 eggs in the highest box, none on the ground, and they didn't scratch the leaves out of the box. I'm really glad that worked out and in my favor. No more muddy eggs!

Am I going chicken crazy again?
