It's probably the same with chickens.Noticed this morning I've got a couple of my Slw with missing tail feathers haven't seen anyone pulling feather. What can I do about that?

A friend of a friend knew I wanted some silkies (this was last year before I got all these chicken this year) said he had some chicks and wanted to give me some. Not sure why I said "YES" but I did!! Here I was trying to reduce my number closer to what I attended to have which was two birdsI thought I was doing good by getting my number down to 7 chickens.

Question? I have two bunches of hens one 4 weeks older than the others. When the first bunch start laying will it hurt the younger ones to eat the layer feed?
It's probably the same with chickens.
With quails you remove the one that is causing the feather loss for a couple of days.
But it doesn't work if it's a male. They are too busy thinking of other stuff![]()
It's the Slw I thought was a rooster to begin with. Guess he's just being a teenager he's biting all the hens butts even the ones that are bigger than himIt's probably the same with chickens.

Thought he was just gonna be a bossy hen but no doubt he's a rooster after what I just saw hope he not aggressive towards people when he's olderHe's being obnoxious in a juvenile attempt to get attention......I've known some men like that..........
