ALABAMA!!

I had it in with my chicks, but they acted terrified of it (even though they were the same size?) and they had different feed so I separated them... The store I got it from has a 48 hour policy, but it's an hour away.. That's a long way to go to exchange a $6.25 bird

They act like that when ever I even put another chick in with them. They will get used to each other. I usually have chicks brooding my poults but right now I have a week and a half old poult brooding chicks! They snuggle so cute together!

Quote: Sounds like it was a broad breasted for that price, and I can't help but think the farms have so much inbreeding that the broad breasted birds to me are not very bright compared to my heritage. I have raised both and my heritage are smarter! I am not a specialist but the BBB or BBW have to be AI as they cannot mate naturally they are to big.

I got the poult Saturday at an Easter event that we drove an hour to get to, but I can't justify driving all the way back down there to get another one. The lady I got my three chicks from said she expects some turkeys to be hatching soon and will sell me some and they're bourbon reds and the black and white ones... I'm just gonna wait on her birds I reckon

Bourbon Reds are nice birds I have some. They are smart and gentle. My poults will walk up to my hand and want to be held and loved on. You should have some chicks about a week old when you get the poults to make sure the chicks will keep showing it to eat and drink. But the chicks will figure that out from watching you dunking it in the food and water. Then the chicks figure out it needs help or something like that. But that is what I see around here.
