The panels are 6 feet tall. The ducks have had one wing clipped or they would fly out in a heart beat. The chickens hop up on the low roof of their coop (the nest boxes are under there) and walk around, but no one has given much thought to flying out.
Glad ya'll like them. They really have been a hodge podge of ideas--sort of build as you go.
DH and I were watching the birds from the deck last night. We noted that the Delaware rooster was considerably bigger than the other roos and that we would like to have more of them. I think I even go the go ahead to order more next year. I think I'll order a dozen. I saw Washington (Del) mount one of the Black Australorps. She was not the most pleased but her comb and wattles are turning a nice red. I was noticing a couple of others seem to be quite a bit ahead of the rest. Maybe I'll get some eggs soon.
I've got two roos you can have from nice breeder lines in Michigan if you're interested.
I think I've decided which one I want to keep. I'm planning on hatching as many as I can get next year. Do the Dels from Sandhill have yellow legs or greyish/pink ones? Does Sandhill discount shipping or anything on large orders? If they do, we should go in on an order together. I want some Orloffs, Chanteclers, maybe Dels, and maybe a few white Ameraucanas from them.
P.S. Like your coops! I am jealous.
