Tori, I gotta tell you that I am pleasantly surprised with my Minnie Pearl
I have heard so many times that Silkies are very submissive to other chickens, I thought I'd have a scared little hen on my hands with all the bigger girls. However, this morning after I let her out she not only backed down my two young EEs, but my two BARRED ROCKS, one of which was close to the top of the pecking order in the other coop!! It was an awesome sight watching this little hen stand up to girls 2x her size and WIN!!
She also made sure to put the little Russian Orloff chicks in their place in the eating order when given spaghetti this evening for a treat. No one else challenged her! Now I also have to say that Rocky is not quite sure what to do with her, as she squats each time he gets close...
He hasn't mounted her yet and that's ok.... but I don't think he knows what girls are for...yet!
The two BSL girls act as tho they've always lived here!
Thank you Tori!!
