I am worn out!! The kids and I made the co-op milk run this morning and met Tracy in Palmer at 11:30 to get barley. The farmer is very nice. He loaded our ton and we were on the way home. We made a few stops to adjust the tarp and straps, but made it home in one piece.
Bonnie did you go by? I was hoping to see you. I brought some mealworms I thought you might be interested in for starting your own "colony".
Tracy picked up some poly bags at Mill and Feed and brought my feed bags I'd been collecting. We bucketed the barley into the bags and tied the tops as fast as we could go. We put the kids in the big box to fill buckets when the level started going down. They had a ball and we managed to bag up 2000 pounds in an hour or less.
What really surprised us is that it didn't look like as much as we thought it would be. Basically, we thought it was totally worth the trip and would do it again. He has plenty for all that want some. I think he has some oats as well, for anyone who might want some for horses. He says people come with bags, boxes and big garbage cans===whatever they have.
