Alaska hatchers..How is everyone doing? Baby pics !!!!!!

It's late but I couldn't help myself. I stared at the incubator/hatcher until one of my daughters D’Uccle eggs hatched around 2:30 am. We put them in the egg crates and it was great to see it climb out of the shell. I think all of the other 17 fresh eggs have pips. They were due to hatch on Feb 14 so they are early. It will be interesting to see when the 16 refrigerated eggs hatch.
Will get some pics when I find the camera in the morning.

Candling shows all the eggs making progress, no blood rings and good air cells.
Turner removed, to allow the chicks to settle and orientate for hatching.

I candled yesterday (day 14/15) and took out 4 more early quitters that I was not sure of the first time I candled. So no I am down to 34 with a couple still in question. Humidity has been sitting right at 40. I am hoping that is not too high. Monday afternoon I will candle again then add water and tape the lid shut until hatch. I am trying to decide how to separate the breeds so Paula can know shat she's got. I think she has a BO roo and if that is the case shouldn't a BO roo over a Black Australorp or RIR hen yeild sexlinked chicks? Or maybe it only works the other way around.

I saw a huge display of oranges at the grocery the other day and decided to make corn syrup-free marmalade. I only cut up half of the oranges and already have two big pots full of fruit and water and think I bit off more than I could chew right now. My DS thought marmalde was a waste of perfectly good oranges, so he may get to eat to other dozen as is.

I have 8 Fav bantams on and 6 of them look good on day 9. I will check the lav Araucanas Monday, (day 7).
I love marmalade but have never made it. Sounds wonderful. Beautiful babies Pandora!

Hi,
I'm in Wasilla, am just finishing my first hatch. Started with 9 of my own eggs, so far have one (lonely) little chickee! She (im thinking positive LOL!) hatched right on time on Feb. 11th. I have two other eggs still in the bator - one was rocking a couple days ago but now they are both very still - maybe dead? I'm thinking of taking them out and seeing, because I just got a shipment of eggs from little grey bantam today (yeah!) that are to go in there next. I am having a hard time keeping my humidity down during the first 18 days - I have a Hovabator 1588 and they way it measures humidity is you just put water in one of the trays and hope for the best I guess! I need to get a decent hydrometer but I don't know how to 'remove' humdity. BTW all your new babies are sooooo cute! I have a video of mine hatching (way cool) and I will post a pic of my lone survivor soon.

we have 2 pips already....I think the temp Thermo is off. This is the 2nd hatch that this has happened with.
Day 19 and I am very glad I went into lockdown late the night of the 18th instead of waiting.

2 of the Brown ones have piped and I of the greens is moving.
