You're probably good if it's been three weeks, and Terissa probably did keep them seperate.

Good luck to you and Deb on your hatches!

Transferred 9 ducklings, 3 turkeys, and 3 new Marans chicks to the brooder. The Marans came from Onthespot (Patty) and one is a Blue Copper, Bev Davis line.

Deb... 3 seems to be my lucky number... and multiples of 3, apparently.

More eggs in the hatcher, more going in today, and it's going to be another crazy hatching week.

Spent the weekend doing Spring Cleaning/Construction ~ hubby enclosed one wall of our Bunny Barn with old picture windows that were give to us so it's turning into a greenhouse (sort of). Blocks the wind nicely.

Cleaned up the old pig pen from last year and put all the meaties out there. More room to move, and they're MUCH happier now. Modified one of my brooder boxes so that it is upright with a gate on it, and the chicks are on wire. Our local mill is low on work, and therefore low on shavings so I'm trying to conserve. Plus I think it will keep the garage smelling better.

Will work on modifying all of them eventually.

Gotta run to town today after Judy stops by this morning to pick up eggs.

Better get a move on.

Ok I have a little experiment going on here. I used these two BCM eggs just for this and thought I'd share it with all of you.

Now my little theory here is that they incubate sitting upright in a turner the whole 18 days. I cut up a egg carton so that very
little is actually touching the eggs and that they still have ventilation. Remaining upright they have a less of a chance of drowning
and they remain in the position that they were in when they were incubated. I'm hoping they save some energy to get all the way
out..

If it works, you'll be the first to know!

He's doing great Deb! I think we are going to be good. There was some chick posturing but I keep my eye on them and they seem to be warming up now.
