My truck lost the transmission in Jan, they still have not gotten it fixed.

the Nenana PO is 8 miles from my house, and I know the ladies that work there didn't play football with them.....

We have a chick in the bator this morning!!!!! a cute little dark colored baby that hides in the corner.....I will get a pic as soon as it comes to the window.

my new shipment of eggs are now in Bator #2, in the turner.

Why all the roos?

I am going to raise and butcher for meat and then sell the skins and feathers to crafters and taxidermists. The roos have prettier feathers than hens AND I can part with males easier... lol

Mine are coming to my PO box too!!! I hope they make it ok!!

Ashia and Deb,
When i took the broody off the eggs this morning, I went ahead and picked each egg up.
Seven of them have lightened in weight considerably. One still feels heavy, so I am going to assume its a no go.
When dh went to feed her early this morning, he noticed one was out from under her, but he did not note its weight.
Just pushed it back under and left her be for awhile longer.
I am guessing its the heavy one, but will have to wait and see what she does over the next day or two.
If we find it out again, and it is the heavy one, I will try and candle it just to be sure.

...wanders off to figure out how in the world to candle chocolate eggs

I ordered the chicks last night.
Having them shipped to Dhs work, since we do not have a Wasilla PO.
I selected the 14th of June, with delivery on the 16th, but am still waiting on the email saying what the actual day will be.

I have 4 broodies awaiting the 50 chicks we will be raising here.
I like tease Dh about having to live with so many cranky hormonal females

He does get a kick out of it though!

I'm sure it wasn't your P.O., that the damage was already done somewhere along their five-day trip. Can't wait to see what actually hatched! I think maybe our answer on why the first batch didn't do well was what happened to the second box, huh?

Oh ok, thats a bummer. I just hate to see folks have to deal with this stuff....we still do from time to time, none of my polish have done anything either. I have
two left, this is the second time around. One looks like it is developing but it concerns me that it is full of fluid in the air cell? The other one might actually hatch. We'll see!

The Dellies I got from Michelle are doing really good. I have 12 out of 14 and they are headed to locked down in about two days....

After my day 7 candling to see just what was fertile and what wasnt i have 28 eggs left out of 40. 7 of 10 quail were infertile, one duck, two chukar and so far one pheasant was infertile and i had one quitter. Everybody else seems to be doing great, all forming and bouncy little fetuses. lol.

That little orpington is adorable! there was a guy selling some rhode island reds, pied mixes, orpingtons (they looked identical to the little one posted here) and a couple others down at pittman last night, it was so hard walking away with none! Wanted 2 dollars a piece! They were ADORABLE! My mom ended up buying 20 of them, i think they were black marans.. I cant wait til my babies hatch!
