Let me check here. They are not open Sundays and Mondays I know. The chick feed is 21.95 for 50 lbs. , it has no soy or antibiotics or growth hormone and they use salmon meal for protein Layer grower is 18.50 for 50 lbs and 28.33 for 80 lbs. They make their own feeds and most of it is from local sources. Our horses have done super on it, and I lost chicks the only time I used a different feed.

Really? It has never done that to ours, and we even through them extra carcasses off and on as well.

Oh yes, our eggs turned out fishy. But then again we changed them over from the AMF feed to the Budget feed, that's when we noticed it.

Haven't noticed anything like that so far. They taste better than the store eggs, but not like fish.

This was last summer we tried it, maybe we are more sensitive to the taste? But there was a noticeable difference to us.

Anything is better than store bought! lol.....

That's true! I wonder though, my guy is very fussy about such things and says he hasn't noticed anything like that at all. So maybe something went haywire with a batch? Hard to say. The ponies haven't had fishy breath, anyway!

I wonder if the immediate switch was to hard ont hem, and they just did not process it well.
I think its a good idea when changing food to do it gradually.

We even fed fish to our meat birds last year, and the meat was fantastic.
Trick with that, is to make sure to not feed them fish in the last two weeks.
Or if you do, its just bit for a treat.

Just sent an email requesting pricing info. I started doing the math... I go through roughly 1200 lbs of layer feed, 200 lbs of gamebird feed, 200 lbs of rabbit feed, 100# of dog feed, 100# of duck feed... per month.

Yow.
But AM&F is sold here at Save U More in Soldotna... $15.39/50# for 16% layer pellets. $16.39 for 20%. It's not bad, compared to some places. About $5.00 cheaper per bag than Cadre's feed store.

I dont recall saying I did an immediate switch? It was a gradual transition for them and the eggs were tainted tasting to us. What's the problem here? Im stating what I thought was a fishy taste in my eggs after switching....sorry, we tried, it didn't work for us. Period.
Must be something to it if you have to stop feeding your meat birds fish two weeks before you process them.....I must not be totally nuts!
