Tori those pictures are awesome!. Everything shows up so well!
When I did lock down on the BCMs I did up it to about 60% the last 2 days. The thing is that's what the breeder suggested but maybe there is more at play too.
Well, the 1502 is holding at 33% if its own readouts are to be believed. I found one of my digital therm/hygrom lying on the floor behind the hot-tub (it's empty) and it said 71% humidity in the room!
OMG... I've been drowning my poor babies!
I just put the unit in the Hovabator with the Marans eggs... we'll see what it stabilizes at. Thing is, I have several breeds/species in there at once... quail, turkey, duck, chicken, pheasant, partridge...
I hope it's ok to have it that low for everyone... I need to rearrange, I guess, and move the rest of the duck eggs into the 1202.
Lost a chick from my April 10th hatch today.....
she was a light Brahma, and just didn't act right this morning. I gave her 1 drop polyViSo (non Iron)l in her beak......
this afternoon found her breathing funny and tonight she was gone.
I am sick to my stomach this morning...
Last night I was candling eggs that I had won on an auction... they are a week along and showing signs of growth. My husband was in the next room on the computer, and called me out to look at something. Guess who forgot to go back in and put the eggs back in the incubator?
The light was off in the room because I was candling, but I left the door open and I never do that. The 1502 beeps through its turning cycle, so I keep the door closed. I thought it was odd that the door was open this morning, but I've been so tired lately that I didn't think anything of it. Until now. I saw those eggs sitting there, and now I just want to cry. I put them in the incubator... they'be been out for less than 10 hours, max, in a room that is about 65°F. What do you think the chances are that they're OK?
