Thanks - I tell myself that the more critters I have the more deaths I will have, but I just can't stop getting critters!! So, it's something I know I have to deal with, many times over! Doesn't make it nice, or fun or easy, but it's worth what they give us in return.
Your husband is right, but that doesn't make it easy either
You should have seen me when I had to put down a puppy, and then my old dog... I was a flipping MESS. The chickens will make me sad, but I can handle them better'n dogs...
I say that NOW because my chicks are only.... lessee, the oldest is 9 weeks... we'll see what happens when they've been around a few years!
Oh no, Im sorry! I didnt say it would make it any easier.....in fact it made me cry harder when
he said that! lol........
I have a horrible time with death all together when it comes to family and pets....meat birds are easy,
by the time they reach 6 weeks old you almost feel sorry for them.
Ashia said Splint wasnt doing so good at her home today, he's not roosting and he's getting picked on. His leg
that was broken is twisted off to the side so he'll always have a limp but he did well here. Unfortunatly it looks
as though he'll probably be put down sometime soon. It's a really hard decision to make when it comes
to their quality of life.......*sigh*
I think I JUST said that....eh? Still doesnt make it an easy decision...besides, he was just fine here at my home we just don't
have the room to keep another roo....
Guess I need to order some chicks, so I can have such cute packing peanuts!
I have a bunch in the incubator.....Hubby would probably cook me if I ordered chicks,.....wonder if I can sneak to the feed store????? while he is out of town...... (claim they hatched here? say nothing and see if he notices????).....hmmmmm.....................
