the trip to Fairbanks was a totally mess. Nothing went as planned finally arrived home after changing rides, (vehiles & Drivers) 3 times.

I looked into the incubator to find 2 pipped eggs, only one still moving. the other one completely still, and one egg had done nothing. I opened the incubator, assisted the still breathing chick, seems alittle tired and sticky, but ok, the other egg had a small zip and no movement, so I attempted to help it as well.... but it had already passed, the yolk was not fully absorbed, but there was no blood, so I think it just gave up. so from the 3 shipped eggs that went into lockdown, I have one chick.......

next batch lockdown in 2 days.....

well as the Trip to Fairbanks yesterday proves, even with the best laid plans, things happen...
It was not intended to be a 14 hour excursion, it was supposed to be a short 3 hours in town and home, ........but Labor when a human is about due, Can and does change your plans, then unexpected things like rain, cause a few, then add in other people and my short trip flat wore me out.....and I only managed about 3 hours sleep, before the phone began this morning....

So all in all, I would say I am luckily blessed that most things work out well in the end.
(picked up 10 Barred Rocks at the feedstore and they all made it home happily)
So I have a few friends for my little Mystic,
and with more hatching here in a 2-3 days I should have a few friends for my newly hatched Barred Rock "Blessing", as well.

Ronny, your roo will still be here when you're up next, or when I go through. I see one and possibly a second. Sorry we missed each other, I was out from 6-9 pm last night...Ginger

Hey Donna, Iceman is tattooed and ready to go when you are. I'll be repeating this breeding once Mamma gets these
guys out the door. I sadly had to put one of the white girls down today, she somehow broke her foot. When I picked her
up it was just hanging there....Broke my heart!

Deb it might take a week or so to get his hutch ready. I have finally had time to get to some of my projects but the last 2 weeks have been pretty much at a standstill for our summer plans. It's all for the best but now is catch up time. Will that be okay for you?
I am so sorry you lost one!

That's so awful for you to find.

I'll keep that in mind. I have a few days til I have to go anywhere so I can arrange things. Deb, I am so sorry about your little one. I didn't catch it right away, but that is a heartbreaker.

Seriously, no huge rush. He just got tattooed today and is doing great! He's going to be a nice boy.

Yep, that broke my heart. So since I didnt get the light grey I wanted I thought I would try to repeat the breeding. We'll see. I see
some HUGE heads in Snots litter. We have decided that she is going to rabbit heaven once her litter is ready to split up. We have put up with her
now for two years being as rotten as she can be. I don't think re-homing her would be a good idea. She could really do some damage to some unsuspecting kid.....

Another heart breaker, the second set of Cree eggs (36) didn't fair well at all. I am down to 5 and lock down is Tuesday. The egg that was smelling finally leaked allover
the place. So I had to do something. Even worse, is that out of the 5 left, all that is left are the BCM eggs. None of the BBS made it.......

I may just have to go the live
chick route. Someone between here and WA is pretty rough with eggs!
