.....Hurray! there are 7 more eggs, of which 2 I was not sure about, but figured they wouldn't hurt anything by being in there.....but the others are making me wait.....like a ketchup commerical!

pip 3 is a LF Light Brahma x Barred Rock and has popped the top of the egg......Pip #4 is just starting.

It's hard to believe, I know, but I really think I'm going to start slowing down on the hatching. Of course, it won't be evident for another 3 weeks, as I just set another 60+ eggs yesterday (not counting the 100s of quail eggs), but I'm just about at capacity. Hatching out a few more chicks for an order, then all systems slow-to-neutral. I want to continue to try to hatch some Marans and Dorkings, but I have plenty of birds to replace layers now.

Momma needs a break! (as I type this, 200 coturnix eggs are popping in the incubator, adding to the chicken chicks, pheasants, chukars, and bobwhites that already hatched today).

Holy cow Tori!
You do need a break!
Off topic here; will you have turkeys this winter?

1 LF Pure Light Brahma,
2 LF Light Brahma x Barred Rocks
and 3 pips,

2 are just small pips, the other has a nice hole to peep/peek through....

looks like I may be nose to the incubator all night, watching as they pop the top of the egg!

2 and 2 so far......2 pips to go, 2 doing nothing I can see....

It's been an awful night. Not only did my OWN dog get two of my chickens,

a blrw and a light brahma, but not even an hour later, I heard a bunch of commotion in the coop and ran outside to find this guy

trying to drag off one of my BCMs. It was dead by the time I got outside. Unreal! So I made the rounds again, and my other two bcms are MIA.

What a night!
