Alert: deadly unmarked bulbs

Sorry for your loss of your flock but I am a bit confused by the link. It refers to teflon on cookware what does it have to do with the bulb you were using? If it were in the bulb how did it get out? Could it been something else like cholera or botulism? Or some type of poison? Weird.

I was confused also. That is why I asked the questions I did. I looked it up. I see that because it is coated that it could produce a gas. Here is what I found and did not seeing any brooder light or heating light.

It looks to me that it is industrial and home use. The more I read it is not a coating at all, it is a covering for light bulbs, big difference then it being a bulb. Might be wrong but that is what I found on google.

I googled it as well and tried to post a picture and my whole post disappeared. My name is Bill but last names aint Gates. What I saw was a standard heat bulb with a silver coating on the lower part toward the screw end which I believe is the teflon.

I cannot find any bulbs with Teflon there maybe some lamp fixtures with Teflon. I think the OP needs to look for the real cause.

I googled heat lamp teflon coated and it came right up. Trying to post a picture of one but having no luck. My name is Bill just not Gates. Tried to post the link just struggling here tonight. The ones I think that they are referring to are used in the food industry over like a buffet table. The teflon backing is used to channel the heat down because of the sockets they use versus the big heat lamp shade that we are accustomed too.
