And Echo - not happy, and slightly horrified - about being photographed!

Not surprisingly, in the short time we have had them, the girls have stripped the ground in their run bare of green stuff. The sappling @Ribh was concerned about is hanging on by a thread.

So for a treat, we bought them a roll of turf from a garden centre this afternoon. After cleaning up their coop and run, rearranging the logs and making some space, I rolled this turf out like a would-be-red-carpet at a premiere and they fell on it like ravenous beasts!

Very happy and spoiled rotten chooks!

Your girls are beautiful. I loved the portraits. I have considered growing grass in a flat so I can put the flats in their run when I am not going to be able to let them free range for an extended period. The sod roll was a cool idea. Have you ever though of growing your own?

And here is Fluffy butt back at you. Guess who's it is?

Ah thanks Bob; I wasn’t prepared for how quickly I got attached to my girls. They are lovely.

Hmmm. That looks like Aurora - not quite large enough to be Hattie!

That is indeed Aurora. She's very small.

They worm their way into your heart very quickly. Congrats! There is nothing better than that!
