Ooo, live babies? Or are you setting in December. If you're setting, you're welcome to join, we're not sticklers for rules here :p.

I noticed a few of you set Marans eggs. Do any of you have pics? I love seeing the dark colors. I have three 9 week old Marans pullets and cant wait to see their egg color.

I pick up my eggs on sunday. EE, Dominiques, and mixes. I will set them monday morn the 3rd. For a christmas Eve hatch.

Just pulled one for sure quitter out of my incubator...I have two (maybe three) more that I'm not sure one way or the other on...Not sure enough to dump the eggs, at any rate. They are at 14 days now, and I have 14 or 15 for sure live and moving and growing babies still. My tiny tiny egg out of my home-hatched young pair is still hanging in there too. :D I'll update on day 18 (late Tuesday night) when they go into LOCKDOWN!!!!!! *bounces*

I have 1 request on my list for Santa. I have left pictures all over the house hehe, bathroom mirror, TV screen, IN not on the refrigerator...

Very exciting I hope your tiny egg makes it to hatch. Post pics when they arrive.

Today I am turning on my incubator to let it warm up over the weekend and so I can watch thte temps to make sure all is stable. Im still a little confused by the humidity and what % is the best for the 1st 18 days or Ive seen some people do dry hatches. If any one can help me out this is my first time. Eggs come tomorrow

And roughly at what days shouId I candle I was thinking about days 7/14/18 then lockdown. Can I candle more for the sake of learning with the kids or is 3 plenty?

Also just thought about this am I supposed to heat up the incubator and put room temperature eggs in to already 100degree incubatorbator or put the eggs in the incubator and then turn it on and let everything warm up together?
