I've never heard of crawfish mounds I'm so glad we didn't have them. Maybe we lived far enough away from the water

Good morning everyone.
I have never heard of crawfish mounds (I assumed crawfish lived in the water )
WhoDat - does that mean there are crawfish there? Wouldn't the chickens go wild for those? I would think the best way to get rid of crawfish mounds in the lawn was to free range the chickens. Mind you that would get rid of the lawn too, but I am sure that could regrow.

Yea, they are def more abundant in wet areas... my yard stays very wet.. and floods with a lot of rain...

We eat em all the time... the chickens like theirs cooked .... I give em the shells... I’ll show their yolks after they eat them...

Now as far as them eating them out of the yard... I’m not sure they would be able to dig em out... maybe they could.. but they are pretty deep. My grandson was here trying to fish them out with a piece of meat.. he dug down and had scooped out a bunch of babies!

Here are two giant ones in my yard.. sissors for size... I mean, look at all the holes they dig.. it is such a mess! One time I had literally 100 mounds and I poured gasoline down each one

Good morning WhoDat, have a great day... How do you cook a small batch of mudbugs? I can't even fathom the ratios... Smallest batch I've done is 40 pounds.
