Most certainly.
In an incubator with ideal temp conditions,, most chicks will hatch about same time.
If temp is slightly lower in incubator, the hatch may be a day or so delayed.
In the natural world,, the temp is what the hen was able to provide, so there may be some time difference between first and last.

@cavemanrich what should I do with the last egg? Should I wait till tomorrow?

Also, does anyone know how coloring works? They are all bantam Cochins… dad is red or buff… moms are black, partridge, and red or buff… do the babies come out the color of the mom or could they be either after the mom or the dad? Just curious… I have 5 yellows, 2 partridge.. I think, and a black one.

Black will probably "overwrite" the other colors, but leakage is possible. Like Cumulo (center front)

shade of the leakage.....not quite sure, but probably depends upon shade of the color contributor. Any black that pops color on the shoulders (sort of a rusty red tone) and not all over, is going to be a roo. Expect to see comb/wattles explosions near the same time.

Any partridge chicks (will be chipmunk marked) will pop black breast feathers if a roo.

otherwise, I don't think you have combos that are color sexable at hatch. Hmmmm....will post again as thoughts flutter through my coffee deprived morning brain. (Pot is still brewing)

Okay, thanks! Yea, that’s what I was wondering… just about how the color is dispersed from each parent.. not color sexing. But thank you for all the info cuz that is very interesting

It will be alright. She will know when to move on. She has been right so far. Trust her.

When she comes off the nest eith the babies, then take the egg. The egg yolk sustains the chick for up to 72 hours (is how chicks can be shipped), so 72 hours from 1st chick hatch. With food and water in reach of nest, she might wait the full time.
