I don't know what would have done that. I'm so sorry.

WOW, that is the most horrible thing I've ever heard. If your enclosure was all closed up and locked, I would call the cops and alert them to watch for the intruder/warn others. We hear of really messed up things like that every once in a while (this year - dogs being stolen or found shot). I can't imagine what/who would do something like that to your birds. I am so sorry.

My dear friend I am so sorry. It so much sounds like the work of dog or dogs. They love to kill for just the fun of it and almost never eat what they kill. If you were close I would offer you some of my day olds I just got in. Please check for the dog option and correct for it. Order, or purchase again. it never is easy to loose birds. Remember prevention pays big in the poultry world.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I agree with the prior posts. Do you have a neighbor who has complained about them making noise or someone else with a grudge?

Oh, I am so sorry--what a nightmare to see. I can only wonder if the door was still locked could the goats have gotten scared in the dark and kicked them? I have absolutely no idea if this could happen but it popped into my head. Again, my sympathy.

The chickens, ducks, and 2 pygmy goats were in a closed building with a deadbolt on the outside. This building was surrounded by a 6 foot high chain link fence with gates. All were locked but not with key locks. Any person could have gotten in. Everything seemed secure until the door was opened. There was a little blood on a couple of their heads and necks but that is all. No blood on the goats or anywhere else. My first thought was human but I wasn't thinking clearly and still aren't. Thank you all for your support and sympathy.

OH know!!! That would be devastating and so unexpected.

If the coop is in total darkness, could something have spooked everyone and they were all in a panic and the goats stepped on or ran into the birds in their panic while everyone was running into each other and into the sides of the coop in the darkness breaking their necks and that would explain why they were spread out around the coop?

I'm so sad for you.

I Thought that too, but if it were true there would be more trauma to the birds. Pygmy's are a smaller goat but still much bigger compared to the birds. They have sharp hooves as well. I think there would have been much more trauma to the birds.

I cannot telly ou how bad I feel for you. There are no holes in your structure, right? Or cracks? It doesn't seem likely that the goats would have killed all 10 birds....I don't know. I hope you get to feeling better soon, I am sorry you're going through this.

Oh I am so sorry. That is a terrible thing to wake up to. Sounds weird if it were all locked up. Sure does sound like dogs or some kind of critter. Walk all around and check everything even the smallest opening.

Let us hope and pray that it was not a person. We are talking psycopath here if this is a person. I really hope you don't have anyone like that living near you.
