Mrs. Fluffy Puffy :

I am sighed up for the narnia news, and they said Susan was just going to be in there for a short moment! ?
I was like, why even have her in there then?

That's strange... I guess they just read the back cover and then made the movie.
I mean, I really didn't like her much in Prince Caspian... It seemed as though they were making it so that she was disliked... Did anyone else feel that way?

I am wondering if they made her that way because (WARNING SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN"T READ ALL THE BOOKS!!!!!) so that people wouldn't be disapointed when they make the last movie and she isn't there...

Because I personally was very upset after that and I considered thowing the book against the wall... But I didn't

haha wow you can find all kinds of threads on here!
i LOVE Narnia, both the books and the movies! C.S.lewis was an INCREDIBLE author! I have read some of his other books (Screwtape letters, 'till we have faces) And they are all very good. But anywhoo, i was rather disappointed by the 2nd movie.... they really went off the track. But im still hopeful that the third movie will turn out ok. The one i really want to see is the horse and his boy, because that was my favorite book of the series. anyone else looking forward to it?

No not I! IMO Susan, and Peter becoming adults was the focus of Prince Caspian (The movie)....The movie focused heavily on the two, their struggles with responsibility, Susan's struggle with her feelings. Watch the end closely. Aslan, says Peter and Susan do not "need" to come back.

Yes, I know. But she does come back.. That is what the new movie says... And I did find the part near the end with Caspian unneeded. That wasn't in the book and I believe it should have been left out.

For Narnia newsletter people:
How often do you get an email from them?

Many years ago I realized movies based on books need not be criticized because they are not exactly like the books. I view the two forms of media as completely different. To relay emotion in a book is one thing, in a movie is another. The writer, the producer, and each individual viewing or reading comes away with a different impression... By accepting this I am able to enjoy movies based on books without being over critical.

I generally tend to respect and enjoy movies based on books... But rarely enjoy a book based on a movie!!

It was not necessary to get the point across that she was falling in love with him.(But then again many TV viewers can be quite dense..)

.. Over all I feel they did very very well with Susan's and Peter's struggles with coming of age....
...That realization of what you lost and can never get back once you cross the line into adulthood.
The closing song makes me cry every time...

.. So far the Narnia movies have had a great messages and life lessons for viewers of all ages IMHO... We will see how they do this time..
