All our flocks are locked up inside and we both hate it!

No thank you. Please don't!

We had plenty of that nasty white stuff already this year!

Well, drat. You can't blame a girl for trying!

I am looking forward to seeing your yard transformation, though probably not as much as your chickens are.

ummm, sorta what Terra said except she was holding a skillet instead of a shovel.

A buddy of mine is doing most of the work, I'm just trying to do what I can.
According to him that consist mainly of getting in his way and on his nerves.

And griping...And whining...

I'll probably just have to wait and post pictures when it's done, don't know if I can decribe it.

In the picture of the mud hole there will be a small pond about 3 - 4 times that long but not much wider. It will be around 5' deep with a levee about 8' wide which will have a drain pipe dropping water into a smalled pond just below it that will be only around 3' deep. I don't plan on cleaning them as we have lots of wet-weather springs just below the surface of the ground that will keep them full and fresh plus most of the rain water from our yard will drain down into the ponds also. The little mud hole pond was hand dug around 40 years ago and is only about a foot deep but only dries up for a month or so in the very late summer. If they do get stagnant, I'll just run a pump from the creek and flush them out.
We have a few ducks, but they spend more time in the various drain ditches or in the spring feed creek than the ponds. We just wanted the ponds mainly because it will always be wet there anyway and Terra wants me to put some kind of a fountain type do-hickey in them just for looks.
Of course she wants an arched bridge, stone walks, a couple of benches, another darned weeping willow... She's good at thinking things up but guess who gets to build it all?
Maybe it will look good when it's all done.

ha!!! "...getting in his way and on his nerves."

Did you flare your nostrils and start singing, "...that's what friends are for?"

I'll smack you later... I'm too tired right now.

No need. I'm really too cute to smack. You should just take my abuse and appreciate it.
