I never actually seen a wild croc, I think I'd have a heart attack

That would be fun, wouldn't it?

They have to ride Kangaroos because all the poisonous reptiles bit and killed their horses. Also kangaroos can jump over the crocodiles that are everywhere near the shoreline; the crocodiles are afraid to go in the water because of all the great white sharks that patrol every 200 feet of the island's shoreline.

those are alligators, they are usually lazy except when they are charging out of the water (like a croc) they are ambush predators and won't chase you far if you are lucky.

If kept at 70*F they can go into burmation for about 2 years without bad effect (if adult) ... maybe

That's right... Florida is home to mainly the alligator (which is my personal fav. esp. when I was a kid...have a pic of me as a baby above on a bridge with gators underneath... gee, thanks ma.

)

But I thought they had both... so I googled and they do... the Florida croc is less aggressive it says then the African or Australian croc. this article explains.

"Joe Wasilewski, the plant's crocodile caretaker, marks every hatchling with a computer chip that allows scientists to keep track of Turkey Point crocodiles wherever they end up.

Despite their reputation for shyness, they end up on boat ramps in broad daylight. They slink into back yards. They sunbathe on exclusive golf courses. "We just had to have an 11-footer removed from the ninth green,'' says Sean Anderson, superintendent of the Card Sound Golf and Country Club at Key Largo. "Our snowbird golfers were really nervous about him. It was an automatic three-putt green for a lot of golfers.'' "

LOL. Most people say "g'day" but "Crikey" was The Crocodile Hunter's term.

No ostriches in Australia. You're thinking of Emus....

I don't know what I saw a few months back or on what channel but I was pretty sure it was an ostrich farm and the guy seemed to have an Australian accent if I remember correctly and they were riding ostriches which I thought was pretty funny. I think... it was there. But when I youtubed it all I saw were things from S. Africa. hmm? dunno. I can see the guy clear as day in my head... so I thought I'd recognize it right way and hoped it would be there but I didn't see it. oh well.

and lisa bell from byc is getting an emu and posted some funny emu vids on facebook and they were from Australia... before that I never knew that bit of information. They are silly and funny creatures as far as those videos went.

When I think of Australia I think of the words "slippery dips" and "lollies" and I also think of killer microscopic jelly fish. Actually if I had to pick anywhere in the whole world to visit it would be Australia. I have a few friends that live there and I would LOVE to go
