Alternative bedding/ground cover for summer?

I know some of you choose pea gravel or sand for your bedding.... do you have any pictures? I want to kick the straw out of the coop before summer heat makes it stink!

I don't know about the gravel but my deep litter of straw doesn't really stink during the summer, even when it gets wet. It breaks down even faster.

I shred paper and find it soft comfortable and more interesting for exploratrion and absorbtion with 2 pekin ducks

 

[TLWR]

I use pine straw. Add to it as needed and then swap it out as needed as well. I only have it in a cement mixing tub thing, the rest is hard floor.
