The white dog was a GP/lab mix and the brown is Lab/BC mix...and one of the biggest sweeties on the planet. He does look like a meanie with that BC intensity. He is very lethal on coon, groundhog, moles, mice, rats, and stray dogs~will absolutely wag a person to death!
The real protector of all things in the yard was the white one, Lucy. She is one of the greatest LGDs a person could have had. Sadly, I had to put her down last week due to pain issues from old age.
I don't know how Jake, the brown one, will do without her guidance but it will be interesting to see. I am also training up two Newfie cross pups right now to replace Lucy....it will take two dogs to replace that one wonderful dog.
I've seen these two dogs nearly take a stray apart....the white one started on the front and the brown on the back and tried real hard to meet in the middle. I had to pull them off it before they killed it. He hasn't been back but he left some blood and fur behind.
