Always hungry?

we tried the pellets but they don't eat them. They are out of the cage about 5 hours every day. I thought that considering we give them treats and extra protein occasionally that the free range seed would be ok?

Thanks for the feedback. I got them some layer crumbles and they are reluctantly eating it.
I just read on another thread that if your chickens are rushing at you for food every time you step out the door that they are not content - so I freaked out
