All dogs are individuals but as a generalization, mals tend to be dog aggressive. They are more trainable compared to the other northern breeds and ours have done well with obedience. The heat would be my biggest concern and I would never shave a mal because their coat provides them with sun protection and you will ruin their coat if you shave it. The hair in your house will be ridiculous!! I'm not kidding.

The prey dirve is high but workable. My old guy is fine if supervized the female is never OK not even with puppies, cats or anything less that 20lbs. So she is not around my animals ever.
