Am I the only one that hates halloween?

Rainplace,You are not alone.Im right there with you!!! I DO NOT like Halloween @ all..Never have!Yes I did take my kids to our friends for candy or parties, when they were younger.Couldnt wait till they were older and werent intrested. They were all working today so DH and I turned all the lights out and rented a movie. Proposal w/Sandra bullock,it was very good.I love Thanksgiving, you always have something to be thankful for.Our Tradtion is after grace,we go ard the table and everyone says what they are thankful for. This year I will be thankful for soo much.My son is cooking dinner because I will be having surgery a week before.(Prayers pleez) Im not looking forward to it.."rotor rooter" Anyone else ever had this done??? Christmas is my favorite time of year. This year it will not be the same though,my oldest son wont be able to come home.(he started a new job, outta state n is low man on the tottum pole)We have alot of family tradtions. My favorite is we bake a b-day cake and sing happy b-day to Jesus.Done that since our kids were old enough to sing..Maybe I should start a post on "family traditions" for Thanksgiving n Christmas..??

I'd rather celebrate Halloween with the traditional bonfire and such, but we take the kids out begging for candy.

We do the bonfire thing for the winter solstice.

Hard to keep all those time-honored pagan traditions alive, with all those christians usurping all the holidays.

I have noticed that there is a whole 'nother side to it now that I'm "adult"
There's a huge party at the local bar, so everyone who doesn't have kids or doesn't do the candy-begging thing will probably be there doing adult stuff while dressed like a hooker. LOL

Yeah ... we didn't see any other kids out trick-or-treating, but as we were heading up one of the neighbor's driveways, we passed their two daughters heading out to a party ... too-high heels, too-short skirts, tops from Vickie's Secret. What's with that and Halloween, anyway? If you want to dress like a hooker, you need a holiday for an excuse?

I get the impression that they feel like "it's just a costume - I can break all the "rules" today if I want!"
