Am I the only one?

So, I'll just say it. I can't taste the difference between my hens eggs and the store bought ones. My chickens are on organic layer pellets and we give them fruit and vegetables, and during the summer we free-range them a lot. The egg yolks are darker than the stores, and thicker. My dad says he can taste the difference, so I know it has to be me. It isn't a concern, I was just wondering if I'm the only one?
A year or 2 before I got my chickens, I had some farm eggs, and they tasted terrible. I don't know what they were feeding them, or the fact that they had a rooster, but I couldn't stand them. I like my chickens eggs and the stores eggs, but I could taste that those were very different. Am I weird?

Well, I wouldn't say weird.

'Taste' is a very individual thing. I have OLD taste buds, and can still taste a great difference between free range and store bought eggs. There's a local family restaurant at which we sometimes have Sunday breakfast. Their eggs are richly colored and taste great. I asked where they got their eggs - from a local free range facility where the farmer has several pens that he uses on a rotational basis. To me the difference is distinctive. To my wife - not so much.

We don't have very selective taste buds here, I'm not sure I really taste the difference either. I can see the difference, though, and know in my brain my eggs are healthier and more humane.
