Sometimes it's good to be clean-faced, Because two of my EE Pullets, right on the bottom of the pecking order, there little beards are picked off!
Picking up some No-Pick cream for one of them!
Oh gosh...those poor little gals! Ouch! Good luck with them...hope they do alright!

No specified color/variety, not Ameraucana.
Got it. I was just explaining why I had thought they might be Ameraucana, and why I was wondering if you could tell the difference between the 3 breeds at 1 week old...just by looking. Is there a way?

I hope so to!Luckliy, only one of them is super bad, none of her feather will grow in.The other is doing fine.

Good luck with your little puff-balls, love them while there little!
Glad at least one is doing well. And, thanks. I find I'm staring at them more than Facebook...so that's one positive already!! Everyone told me they grow so fast...I swear they grew over night!! I'm taking pics every couple of days...especially of my 2 "mongrels". SO excited to see all the color stages they go through :D

Araucana are rumpless and Ameraucana have rumps muffs and beards. Also a giveaway on your chicks are the leg colours most ameraucana have a greyish colour leg except I believe the wheaten ones but your chickens don't look like those

Great info on the leg color! Thanks. And, what a gorgeous bird you have. That color pattern is one of my favorites!

Oh ty I'm much the same as you I'm a new chicken enthusiast and went to the feed store to pick up my two buff Orpington's and two brahmas and low and behold I came home with six.

Oh dear. I've been warned about chicken math (on this site)...we are the perfect example. 2+2=6. :D

Well from what I've read, a Ameraucana is supposed to be Rumpless.
Araucana are rumpless and tufted. Ameraucana are tailed, muffed, and bearded. Two different breeds.

Common misconception that Easter Eggers are 'mongrels' or mixed breeds. The vast majority are not. Hatchery sourced birds simply haven't been bred to meet any breed standard.
