Amazing Geese tell me how yours made your day today!

We let the flock raise ours. They're not pets unless I hatch myself which I've only ever tried once and both eggs were infertile. Because of this, none of them are too happy with me around. They associate me with food but that's it. I never had any problem with our old gander. He never chased me. Now we've got another gander as well and he's mean. I'm hoping to sell him after this breeding season depending on the goslings we get.

My American Buffs, Gussie and Golly, were today's eagle warning system. They alerted me and the ducks (all the chickens were cooped in anticipation of tonight's severe storms) to danger as a mature bald eagle flew over the yard.

However, Mr. Eagle was pretty busy with the two crows that were diving bombing him and seemed in a hurry to leave the vicinity. Still, the girls certainly made plenty of noise -- and ran toward their human mom for protection! The ducks quickly followed in their normal parade formation.

MaMa is on a roll. So she is my tiny production african that couldn't get bred this year. She is to small and the big guys just cant make the mark. Anyway I let her brood her eggs ( I think she was a muscovy in a prior life).
Then it was my birth day I came home and she gave up her nest but wasn't happy that she did. I checked and yep the eggs all were bad one about to explode. I dumped the nest quickly added new hay and all fresh bedding. She paced outside the barn the door was still open but somehow knew I was doing the right thing.
I went in the house and brought out my 2 (3 day old goslings). She quickly came back in and greeted both of them. it went so well I went back in and got my 7 day olds and brought them out. Yep they are her family to. I did invite her favorite Gander to join in he did great.
Since MaMa has been moved to the heated barn with the babies, Being around all the geese was a little much for the young ones. Thinking about giving her the ones that hatched today. She is the worlds best mom.

Thank you you have been so much help in the past. MaMa took on a new baby today and tomorrow will be getting 2 more, I did move her back to her original (heated) barn and nesting area. My young boy was scarring the babies So funny to watch her talk to every new one she arches her neck and talks to everyone. Guides them she is a incredible little goose. Yes she is only one I have ever raised to bite me. But she is also one of the sweetest you could ever have. My grandson named her daisy duck. So she is here for a lifetime.

sounds like a wonderful little sweet pea!

Not my goose but I saw a video on facebook that blew me away. It was a house goose. He (or she) was wearing a diaper. Anyway the goose walked up to a sofa. There was a stuffed toy on the end of the sofa. The goose jumped up on the sofa, cuddled up to the stuffed toy, and went to sleep LYING ON HIS BACK!! I used to raise geese. The only goose I ever saw lying on its back was one I was putting in the oven. It was a cute video though.
