Cyn, he's growing so big! He's approximately 8 weeks old now. His beard is growing in.

Aw, he looks sweet, Tara! A Barred Rock with a beard.. whodathunkit? Is his temperament good like his parents?

Well that is interesting. I love his beard. I'm sure mine is a pullet. Her comb looks just like her mom's. She also has the body shape of her mom but so far no beard. I'll see if I can get a pic of just her tomorrow. She's very shy compared to the BRs.

He's a cool looking fellow and pretty easy going.

I think he'll be a great rooster for my layer flock.

FrontPorchIndiana - does your pullet have muffs? How's her barring and leg color?

Ooh, Christine, please keep me updated on her progress! I'd love to see how she develops! Yours too, Tara! My Charlotte is just the most cuddly, sweet hen and a fantastic layer of pastel blue eggs, as you saw. It'd be great if she laid a pretty pastel egg, but crossed with a brown egg layer breed, it will most likely be a shade of green. Still, that'd be awesome if it was mint green rather than a tan shade!

Hi! They're very pretty

I have a couple of those crosses here (blue barred and black barred).

The pullets are not far from POL and I'm curious to see if they lay greenies or brownies.
