There is some percentage like 1 in 50? birds bred from SQ/BQ actually turn out to be SQ. That is why we have to breed selectively.
We come to BYC to learn, and people learn from our questions.
Tootsie, you asked a question and were lucky to have two ABC members/breeders
who show their birds answer your question.
Everyone makes personal choices based on what you need from your birds.
Had you have entered the PA Farm show last year with your bird where there was an ABC Meet and something like 75-100 Ameraucanas and maybe 20 Blue alone, he would have been DQed or at least just not placed. He placed over 4 other birds.
You have received some suggestions on your birds, if you want to show and do well you should consider it, consider where you ned to go from here with what you have.
The birds featured on your website are EE's. I understand you have other stock.
You seem, with a website and selling eggs, to be more of a high profile chicken type person. It would be great to take that opportunity to educate people who come to your farm or buy from you. I always think about what might happen down the road to people with what I help bring into this world. I would never want some a kid to hatch eggs, spend months raising birds, and get DQ at a show bc I didnt make the best choices I could with breeding.
Just a thought.
