Do Ameraucanas ever change their egg color? I have a flock with two of them, the birds are about eight months old. Today I found a green egg, which is a first. I am guessing this was the first egg of one of my Ameraucanas that has always been a little slow developmentally. But I wanted to know if it might be possible for the same bird every lays differently colored eggs. Thanks.

The basic color does not change. It may become lighter as the laying cycle progresses, but a blue egg layer does not lay brown eggs.

My Ameracauna lays what might be mistaken as a white egg, but upon close examination the eggs have a consistently green tinge to them.
