Lucky!
I'm hoping my new one will be an early layer. Yeah, my girl is shy, but she still follows me around like a puppy. She's not fond of being picked up, but she's the first to come to me for treats![]()
Hatcheries don't sell true Ameraucanas, however they label their EE's as such, usually by spelling it "Americana".
Oh well. Same thing happened to us.I just got 10 from a hatchery that are supposed to be full breed ameraucana and they look just like your photo....
Perhaps I should not have bought an "Ameraucana" off a craigslist add, but I have two already and love the eggs so much. I don't mind my rouge hen, but I would like to know what she is. I am thinking she is an Easter Egger. she lays a cream colored egg. Lighter than my tan Brahma, and Wyandotte ggs, with almost a peachy tint. I love her personality, so I am happy to have re-homed her, although I will never again buy mystery poultry. I just did not want to wait for spring. EE but they are great chickens! I am such a bad chicky mamma, I took this picture of Sweet Heart as she was laying an egg. What the heck is she?![]()
